This market will resolve YES if NSIDC’s official assessment of the 2027 Arctic winter maximum reports a sea-ice extent numerically lower than every earlier annual winter maximum in its comparable satellite record.

Use Northern Hemisphere sea-ice extent, not ice area, volume, thickness or Antarctic extent. Use the winter maximum identified by NSIDC’s Sea Ice Today assessment and its associated Sea Ice Index series, not an isolated daily dip or another agency’s MASIE product. A numerical record q
