Will Salman Rushdie’s attacker receive a federal life sentence at the November 3 sentencing?

Question

This market will resolve YES if Hadi Matar receives a sentence of life imprisonment on at least one federal count arising from his attack on Salman Rushdie, in the federal sentencing proceeding scheduled for November 3, 2026 before Judge Richard J. Arcara. The question concerns the punishment imposed following his federal terrorism convictions. His earlier state-court sentence is not the outcome being traded, and the already announced guilty verdict cannot by itself resolve this market YES.
