Will Antarctica’s 2027 winter sea-ice maximum be the lowest on record?

Question

This market will resolve YES if the National Snow and Ice Data Center identifies the Antarctic winter sea-ice maximum for 2027 as strictly lower than every previous annual maximum in its satellite record beginning in 1979. A tie for the lowest value resolves NO. The comparison concerns the seasonal peak in the extent of sea ice around Antarctica, normally reached near the end of the austral winter. It does not concern the summer minimum, Arctic ice or the volume of the Antarctic ice sheet.
