Will Webb scientists unveil a galaxy at redshift 16 or beyond at January’s AAS meeting?

Question

This market will resolve YES if a research team publicly presents a newly spectroscopically confirmed galaxy with cosmological redshift z of at least 16.0 using James Webb Space Telescope observations as part of the 249 th American Astronomical Society meeting, scheduled for 10–14 January 2027 in Salt Lake City. Exactly z = 16.0 qualifies. The conference dates are confirmed; no such discovery or presentation is asserted to have been scheduled.

The result must concern a galaxy, not a star, quasa
