Will LeBron James score at least 25 points in his 76ers debut against the Knicks?

No one knows yet — the game is tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, 7 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden). It’s his regular-season debut with the 76ers against the defending champion Knicks.**
LeBron’s been averaging right around 21 points the last couple seasons (about 20.9–21.3 in 2025-26 with the Lakers in 60 games). He’s 41, coming into a stacked Sixers lineup with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Jaylen Brown, so his scoring volume could dip a bit as he facilitates more. In his only real preseason action (vs. the Nets), he played just 18 minutes, took one shot, and finished with 10 points (all from the free-throw line mostly). He sat out some other preseason games for rest.
25 is doable — he’s still efficient and can get there with free throws and opportunistic scoring, especially in a high-profile opener with the banner-raising and all the hype. But it’s not a lock. New chemistry, load management at his age, and a tough Knicks defense on their home floor make “at least 25” more of a coin-flip or slight under than a sure thing. Betting lines and early previews have treated the Sixers as underdogs overall, which tracks with a team still figuring itself out.
We’ll find out in about a day.
